Players have various ways of going about their pre-match routine in the lead up to the game each week. Andrew Lovett always puts his right sock on first while Jason Johnson always eats the same pasta dish before every game.

However no match preparation could be more peculiar than that of Jason Winderlich in the lead up to tonight’s Clash for Cancer blockbuster.

Winderlich spent yesterday evening hand-painting his boots yellow in hope that they may be auctioned off following the match to further assist in raising vital funds for cancer research.

Andrew Welsh will also take to the field tonight wearing his own hand-painted creations which will also be auctioned along with each Essendon Guernsey from tonight’s game.

The auction will be online from Monday or you can make a donation to the Cancer Council today by clicking here or by calling 1300 65 65 85.
