After a spray from disappointed coach Kevin Sheedy at the first change, Essendon went from a 9-point lead at quarter time to a massive 65-point lead to begin the second half.
The battle for flag favouritism became a little more intense in AFL round eight. While last year’s grand finalists Brisbane and Essendon are still top of the pops with punters, the pre-season improver Port Adelaide is travelling nicely, and now Collingwood has indicated that it could be a genuine contender.
