Essendon big man Scott Gumbleton has made a successful return from back surgery in Bendigo’s 32 point win over Collingwood in the VFL today at Victoria Park.

Gumbleton got through the first half playing across half forward booting a goal before he was rested in the second half.

Defender Tayte Pears also made his return from injury and looked to move freely throughout a hard fought contest.

Bendigo began strong in the first term booting the first goal and never trailing for the rest of the afternoon.

Travis Colyer got plenty of the ball through the middle of the ground for Bendigo as did first round draft selection Elliott Kavanagh who played his best game for the season booting three goals.

Bendigo 13.15.93
Collingwood 8.13.61
