The key position player told Bomber.tv he was a little nervous as he embarked on his journey into the AFL but is excited about settling in at Bomberland.
“I am a little bit nervous,” he said. There is a little bit of pressure I suppose but I am looking forward to the challenge.
“I am really pleased that Essendon gave me the opportunity and I am really thankful for that.”
A St Kilda supporter growing up, Hurley quickly disposed of all allegiances following his selection by Essendon on Saturday.
“You can forget about St Kilda, I am an Essendon boy now,” he said.
