Breast cancer is a disease that is often surrounded by frightening statistics and varying information, some of which can be true and some not. It is a sad fact that one in every eleven Australian women is affected by it and every three and a half hours, another sufferer dies. The Essendon Football club in conjunction with the Peter McCallum Institute is holding a free information seminar in order to improve awareness of this serious disease.
Institute experts will be available to answer questions and discuss issues concerning treatment techniques and new research. The event, which will be hosted by entertainer and women's network member, Jane Clifton, will also feature a guest speaker in the Lady Mayoress of Melbourne, Susie Norton. Mrs Norton will tell of her personal battle with breast cancer and how she survived the deadly disease.
This free seminar will take place on Tuesday the 26th of June at the Windy Hill Social Club, commencing at 10am and includes light refreshment. Anyone wanting more information should contact the club on 92300300.
