Despite having already committed to using their first round selection on Father/Son recruit Joe Daniher in this year's draft Essendon remains confident of securing a batch of talented young footballers to add to their list.

Selection 35 will be the first live pick for the Bombers in next month’s draft after the club committed to taking Daniher with pick 10.

Essendon List manager Adrian Dodoro feelsthere is enough depth in this year’s talent pool for the club to be able tomake exciting additions to their list.

“I think there will be some pretty goodtalent around that selection,” Dodoro said.

“We have really concentrated on that areaof the draft and we are pretty excited about what will be there.

“It depends on who is there at the time butnormally we would be taking the best available player.”

After free agency compensation wasannounced on Friday afternoon the Bombers draft order changed with selection 48 receivedfrom Port Adelaide for Angus Monfries becoming selection 52.

Dodoro said the club was in a strongposition heading into the draft with two third round selections.

“All clubs are finding players late indrafts and we are confident we will be able to do the same thing,” Dodoro saidon SEN radio.

“We have done our homework, all clubs doand I think clubs are getting smarter.”

“If you look at the history of the rookiedraft in the last few years we are finding a lot of guys going on and playingAFL football.”

“The rookie draft is as deep as you can getin a pool of players.”
