Given the recent spate of close games, our most recent Bomberland poll asked voters which Essendon player they would like kicking for goal to win a match after the siren. Of the 2545 votes collated, Matthew Lloyd was given the nod by 48%. Blake Caracella collected 23% of the vote with James Hird getting 16%. Many users said it would really depend on the nature of the kick. If it was outside the 50m arc, many felt Scott Lucas would be the best choice. Attached are comments made on the most recent poll by Bomberland users.

Brett Crabtree from Adelaide says: Mark Mercuri is the best finisher in the AFL, either kicking to a teamate or kicking for goal, and is very cool and calm under intense pressure. Blake Caracella is also widely acknowledged as the most accurate kick for goal in the league, however I would still nominate Mark.

Meg from Moorabbin says: You really have to define the type of kick, outside the 50 would be Scott Lucas with out a doubt, Blake never misses from anywhere inside about 35m and Lloydy is pretty good from any angle

David Lovelock from East Keilor says: I think that either one of those players could kick the winning goal, in fact I think most players on the team would be able to.

Justin Grossbard from Caulfield says: I think Lucas is the most accurate kick outside 50 so I would always trust him to kick a goal outside 50 but inside 50 it is hard to go against Lloyd.

Clint from Perth says: Inside 50m definitely Caracella, but outside 50m Lloyd or Lucas would be the go as they can both kick accurately up to about 60m on their day.

Nigel Leitch from Horsham says: Of all the Essendon players kicking at goal after the siren I would most like to see the ball in the hands of Jason Johnson. Of these players though I would back Blake Carracella 90% of the time.

Maureen McIntosh from Bayswater North says: Lloydy would not let us down. He has such great concentration, especially when it matters most.

Timothy Truscott from Essendon, Victoria, Australia says: Even though Matty Lloyd is a wonderful kick for goal, Blake Caracella would have to be the most accurate kick for goal in the AFL. After the siren in a Grand Final, accuracy is whats needed.

Harry Smith from Ivanhoe Vic Australia says: All of the players would kick the goal if they had to...
