In Sunday’s shock loss to Fremantle it was clear that the Bombers desperately missed star ruckman Paddy Ryder and captain Matthew Lloyd who were sidelined with injuries.
Both players have progressed well and - depending on how they get through the remaining training sessions - are possible inclusions for Saturday's crunch game against Hawthorn.
Ryder and Lloyd would be instrumental inclusions so, in this week’s poll, we ask if you think these two players should play even if they are not 100% fit?
In last week’s poll we asked what was the bigger upset and Essendon beating St. Kilda was the clear winner with 88.02% of the votes ahead of Yang Yong-eun beating Tiger Woods in the US PGA which polled 11.98%.
Here’s what some of the fans had to say:
Jake from Vic says: Obviously the biggest upset was Essendon beating St Kilda. St Kilda is the benchmark of the competition this year and that’s how we want to play week in week out. Seeing it happen two weeks in a row is a great start. Carn the Dons!
Joseph Attard from Taylor’s Hill says: Still not over this win. This means so much to the club, and now we know we can mess around with the best teams in the league. Sorry Tiger.
Gibbo from WA says: Tiger Woods would beat Yang Yong-eun if they played again right now.
Michael Lynch from says: has to be the Korean as I believed the Bombers were going to get up so not an upset!
Liam from Spotswood says: Anyone can beat tiger woods it’s not an upset. Bombers win was awesome!
Brett Martin from Victoria says: How is the Essendon game the biggest upset? I thought we were always going to beat the Saints.
Samantha from Melbourne says: I thought this poll was going to be out of the ANZAC day game or Round 20 against St. Kilda. Both very nice wins for the Bombers!
Rod Hagen from Hurstbridge says: Essendon beating St Kilda an upset? Nah! I never doubted us! Yang Yong-eun, on the other hand, was a real turn-up for the books!
Andrew Fisher from Altona Meadows VIC says: Of course majority of EFC readers would vote for the Dons... But I must say, Yang really came out of nowhere and took down a legend of golf that has been proven over many years to be one of the greatest. Essendon sure caused an upset by beating the Saints, but their run of wins was due in for an end. And Essendon we're confident coming in to the game. Yang didn't pick up a club til he was 19 years old! Unbelievable!
Mitchell Hill from Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia says: Bombers beating the saints by an absolute country mile!
Jay Neagle is the latest of Essendon’s emerging key position players to commit to the future of the club after signing a new two-year deal this week. The 21-year-old tall forward said he was excited to have penned a deal that will see him wearing the red and black until the end of the 2011 – a time when Essendon hopes to be pushing for a Premiership.
