Young gun Andrew McGrath says teammate Ned Cahill has been a breath of fresh air in 2020, praising the energetic small forward for simply being himself.

The second-gamer gave Bombers fans a little taste of his repertoire on Sunday, booting two goals and busting out a dance move after his first in the three-point win over the Crows.

McGrath, who welcomed Cahill as a housemate earlier in the year, said the 19-year-old's personality was infectious.

"He's a funny character. He brings energy to the group, he's an individual and he's always himself, which is something we love," McGrath told Triple M Hot Breakfast.

"He’ll break out into a dance pre-game, he’ll always be bubbly and energetic and what he showed on the weekend was exactly his personality, which is beautiful."

Selected at pick No.56 from the Dandenong Stingrays in the NAB AFL Draft, Cahill became the first of the Bombers' 2019 national draft class to make his AFL debut.

He had McGrath present him with his guernsey for the special occasion, thanking his close mate for guiding him through the formative stages of his career.

"He’s been sensational. He’s been amazing and a great role model," Cahill said.

"The bond we have now is special. He’s always there for me and for him to present me with it (guernsey) was nice."
