Twelve boys attended the game along with many of their parents, including former players Michael Long, Chris Daniher and Neville Fields. The boys watched the game and then made their way down to the changerooms following the fantastic win.
The next day, the boys met at Windy Hill to participate in the first ‘2 day football camp’ of the year, where Jordan Williams (son of Darren, 109 games), Tom Wallis (son of Dean, 127 games) and Harvey and Callum Daniher (sons of Chris, 124 games) were formally inducted into the Academy.
Throughout the two days, the boys were provided an insight into the training and preparation required at AFL level. They were put through skills testing and game education sessions with Dean Wallis, Brendan McCartney and Hayden Skipworth, observed training sessions with Merv Keane, undertook a goal setting exercise and had a fitness Q&A session with Stuart Cormack.
A very special thanks to all those involved with delivering these sessions, your contribution was invaluable to the experience.
