Essendon debutant Irving Mosquito has been nominated for the Coates Hire Goal of the Year, but he needs your vote to be the round 13 winner and stay in contention for the overall prize at the end of the season.

The electrifying 20-year-old was nominated for his solo effort in the second term of the Bombers' Dreamtime in Darwin match against Richmond.

Sensing a crumbing opportunity, Mosquito accelerated to get to the fall of a contest between big men Tom Bellchambers and Dylan Grimes.

He gathered the crumbs at high speed, turning on the afterburners to slip through Richmond's last line of defence and finish on the run from a tight angle.
