It wasn't a great day for the Bendigo Bombers yesterday. Not only did they get beaten by Port Melbourne but they suffered significant injuries and also have two players on report. Bendigo were soundly beaten going down by 40-points and lost Adam Ramanauskas (groin), Haydn Skipworth (patella tendon), Leroy Jetta (groin) and Justin Maddern (concussion).

The final score was Port Melbourne 15.14 (104) v Bendigo 9.10 (64). Goals for Bendigo - Lonergan 2, Rosa, Riemers, Maddern, Plummer, Houli, Jolley, Atkinson.

Skipworth is the most serious of the injuries and he is out for the season with a snapped patella tendon. He was entering hospital today to have the injury repaired. It was a devastating blow for the former Adelaide midfielder who was desperate to earn himself another crack at AFL football.

The news only got worse with youngster Tom Hislop reported for charging. He missed the first game of the season after being suspended for striking during the practice match series. Richard Cole was also reported for unduly rough play.

On a positive note Bachar Houli played his best game of the season finishing with 31 possessions playing in the midfield. Jason Johnson and Scott Camporeale both got plenty of the ball and will be pushing for senior selection.
