Harvey cited a lack of opportunities at senior level and the desire to play with his brother Brent at the Kangaroos as the major factors in his decision to walk away from Essendon. Harvey was the Bombers’ first selection at the 2001 National Draft and the number 18 selection overall. He played 11 senior games for Essendon and kicked nine goals.
Forster-Knight departs Essendon having played 31 senior games. He was picked up with the Bombers’ fourth selection at the 1999 National Draft – pick 72 overall. Forster-Knight managed just four games in 2003 having played 18 senior games the previous year.
Jason Johnson produced exactly what Essendon supporters have come to expect from him in 2003 - in and under and winning the hard football. Having said that, Johnson did spend a more time playing ""outside"" and running with the football in 2003. This freedom would have done him the world of good both mentally and physically. The added depth to Essendon's midfield courtesy of trade week will ease the burden on him in 2004. How did you rate Johnson's season?
