ESSENDON is expecting to name both Courtenay Dempsey and Mark McVeigh for Friday night's elimination final against Adelaide after both got through training on Thursday morning.

Dempsey has missed the past two weeks with a hamstring, while McVeigh suffered a cracked bone in his hand against Hawthorn last week.

Both players completed the 35-minute training session the Bombers held on Thursday morning ahead of their afternoon flight to Adelaide, although McVeigh was hesitant to use his left hand.

It remains unclear if forward Jay Neagle will make the trip after the goalkicker failed to complete the hit-out.

Neagle lasted just 20 minutes before leaving the field after a chat with the club doctors.

Darcy Daniher, Michael Quinn, Tom Bellchambers, Hayden Skipworth, Jay Nash and Leroy Jetta all trained with the main group, which will have at least three changes made to it given the suspensions to Matthew Lloyd, Paddy Ryder and Sam Lonergan.

Lloyd trained with the main group despite his season being over while Ryder was spotted with the reserves squad before the 10am hit-out.

Despite persistent rumours Scott Lucas will be a surprise inclusion this week, the recently-retired forward was not present at training.
