Despite a disappointing 16-point loss to the Casey Scorpions at Queen Elizabeth Oval yesterday, Essendon fans were kept entertained by the Bendigo Bombers' youth who put their classy skills on show while calling for Essendon selectors to take notice.
After holding the early momentum, the Bendigo Bombers were unable to capitalise on their strong start, allowing the Scorpions to pile on eight goals in the second half to the Bombers’ three and run home with the match.
Young guns Tom Hislop and Danny Chartres were impressive throughout the entirety of the game and after consistently putting together stellar VFL performances, it looks to be only a matter of time before Hislop makes his AFL debut for the Bombers.
