TheBombers failed to kick a goal in the first quarter, but kicked nine of the last10 goals of the match to record a 12.12 (84) to 10.13 (73) victory that keepsthem firmly in the finals mix.

Thewin was Essendon's first at AAMI Stadium since round one, 2007 and only itsseventh at the venue in 20 years.

Thevictory also keeps the Bombers in the top eight ahead of tough games againstCarlton and Collingwood in the next fortnight.

It'sonly the third time Adelaide has lost after being two or more goals in front atthree-quarter time in Neil Craig's seven-year coaching tenure.

TheCrows, who were two players down in the second half after losing defendersGraham Johncock (hip) and Matthew Jaensch (shoulder) to injury beforehalf-time, had chances to snatch back the lead when the Bombers hit the frontfor the first time at the 19-minute mark of the final quarter.

AndyOtten, Brad Moran and Rory Sloane all missed gettable shots at goal whileanother shot sailed out of bounds on the full, denying Adelaide consecutivewins for the first time this season.

TheCrows failed to register a goal in the first quarter of their clash withFremantle the week after having the bye in round three, but the club's attemptsat maintaining a 'normal' training regime in its second bye last weekend paidoff in the early stages on Friday night.

Adelaidemade the fleet-footed Bombers look slow in the opening quarter, displaying alevel of intensity that had been lacking for most of the season and applyingenormous pressure inside attacking 50.

SamJacobs dominated the hit-outs and provided a handy target around the ground, while Johncock, who hadn't kicked a goal this season prior to the clash withthe Bombers, ran off Angus Monfries to kick two for the quarter.

TheCrows kicked five goals for the term while keeping Essendon to its lowestfirst-quarter score of the year to lead by 31 points at quarter-time.

Ittook the Bombers until the eight-minute mark of the second quarter to scoretheir first goal, but it proved to be a rare highlight, with Adelaide kickingthree of the next four to stretch its lead to 36 points at the main break.

Adelaidestarted the third quarter apprehensively and the Bombers gradually gained themomentum, lifting their intensity and finding space for the first time in thematch.

Monfries,Ricky Dyson and Heath Hocking started to find more of the ball, and StewartCrameri and Michael Hurley, who started the game at full-back opposed to KurtTippett, provided targets in attack.

Thevisitors slammed on three unanswered goals, including two long-range bombs fromoutside 50, to cut the margin to 16 points at three-quarter time.

Inscenes reminiscent of the Bombers’ seven-goal final quarter against Richmondlast weekend, the visitors piled on six goals to Adelaide's one in the fourthterm to record a remarkable win.
