Bomber veteran Mark McVeigh remains in hospital tonight under observation after a small cut on his arm became infected.
General manager of football operations, Paul Hamilton, said the infection flared up during yesterday's (Sunday) loss to Fremantle and the 29-year-old was admitted to hospital late that night.
""Mark had a cut on his arm that started to feel sore during the game,"" Hamilton said.
""Later that night he was feeling quite ill and called the club doctor, Bruce Reid, who went to see him and they decided he should go to hospital to get it checked out.
""He was put on a drip at hospital and he remained there overnight. He stayed there today under observation and has improved, which is a good sign, but he will stay overnight again as a precaution.""
Following medical advice, the club currently expects the 189 game veteran to be available for Saturday night's big clash with Carlton but he will be evaluated during the week.
Hamilton said there were no other injuries from Sunday's game.
