Talented young forward Harry Jones tells us about his typical day at the club and what he does away from it.

Take us through what you do before you travel into the NEC Hangar for a training session.

I’m housemates with Kyle Langford and Will Snelling, so depending on their schedule, it’s only a 10-minute drive in with them and I’ll grab a cappuccino with one sugar. They (Langford and Snelling) call it a kids' drink but I like it.

What time do you get to the NEC Hangar for a training day?

Recently it’s been 7am because you’ve got to get a COVID-19 test, which is early, but the coffee gets me up and going.

What’s your pre-training routine?

I go into the gym, do a bit of glute and hip work, and come up for a bit of brekky with whoever is up here. The go-to brekky is vegemite on toast.

What’s the thing you look forward to about pre-season?

I just look forward to getting out there with the boys. The off-season went quick, so I was excited to get back to training.

What’s an area you’re trying to improve on this pre-season?

My marking craft and using my body better in different situations.

Which training drill is your favourite to do?

Set shots because I don’t miss.

Other than yourself, which teammate has hit the ground running this pre-season?

From what I’ve seen, ‘Pleur’ (Aaron Francis) has been pretty good and Will Snelling, because he won the 2km time trial.

What’s an essential item in your training kit?

Probably socks. There’s nothing worse than wearing the same pair of socks all day, so I go through two or three pairs. I hate sweaty feet.

What’s your go-to post-training recovery feed?

Whatever they make for lunch, it’s pretty good. Lasagne is pretty good just quietly, especially after a cold day, it hits different.

What do you usually do when you get home from a training day?

Have a feed and talk a lot of garbage with ‘Snell’ and ‘Langers’. Then I’ll cook dinner, sleep, or see the darl.

How are you spending your days off?

At the moment, it’s a lot of recovery.

What are some of your favourite hobbies?

Watching Will Snelling play Call of Duty Vanguard - it’s the funniest thing I’ve ever witnessed. His reactions and the way he commentates his games, he’s so funny.

What’s your favourite social media platform?

Probably Tik Tok. My FYP is pretty funny at the moment, so happy days.
