Shane Harvey couldn’t get to the hairdressers quick enough yesterday. “I was in Adrian Dodoro’s office yesterday morning and Sheeds came in and told me I need to get a hair cut because I am playing seniors this week and I need to look good for the cameras. I went straight to the hairdresser and got it cut!” Harvey said. Harvey will make his senior debut for the Bombers against Fremantle tomorrow and says he is looking forward to his first AFL match. “I am a little bit nervous but I am really excited as well. I can’t wait to get out there tomorrow and play.”

Harvey is the second 2001 draftee to make his senior debut this season - Joel Reynolds was the first in round three against the Brisbane Lions. The former Northern Knights star has been impressive in his four VFL games this season and after last weeks performance against Williamstown VFL coach Terry Daniher said he thought Harvey was ready for senior selection. ""I thought he turned the corner last Saturday against Williamstown. He lifted his work rate and did the things he was asked to. His game was a real credit to him,"" Daniher said.

Harvey has great pace and he has already shown that his ability to find the football makes him a dangerous player. ""We have used him on the ball so far this year, but he is a handy player in the forward line. He is capable of kicking a few goals and adds a bit of excitement to the forward structure. He has great goal sense and spent most of his junior footy in the forward line or playing up the ground,"" Daniher said.

Harvey impressed everyone in his first competitive hit-out for the Bombers against the Swans at North Sydney Oval. Harvey came on in the second half drilled one goal from 50m, kicked another from a set shot on a very tight angle and then almost dribbled a Daicos-like goal through the middle when hemmed in on the boundary line. It was an outstanding start and Bomber fans hope he can repeat the performance against Fremantle on the weekend.
