Essendon Football Club is excited to announce the signing of midfielder Aaron Heppell to the club’s VFL team for the 2014 season.

The Heppell name has become synonymous with the Bombers over the last few seasons with Aaron’s older brother Dyson becoming a star of the competition.

Aaron said he was looking forward to joining the red and black in 2014.

“I am really grateful for the opportunity Essendon has provided me to play for the club in the VFL next season," Aaron said.

"I have spent the last few weeks training with Skippy and the guys so that has been really enjoyable and I am really excited about the 2014 season."

After being overlooked at the recent National Draft the Bombers jumped at the opportunity to sign the up and coming 18-year-old.

Dyson said he was thrilled that his brother would be joining the club in 2014.

“Essendon has been a great family club throughout its history and I am really excited that Aaron has been given the opportunity to be playing in the VFL team next season," Dyson said.

"He has worked really hard on his football over the last few years and it will be nice to have him around the club throughout the season."

The pair will be living together now that Aaron has made the move from his hometown of Leongatha.
