Michael's form early in 1999 has been outstanding and is a testament to his ability as a player. The Club looks forward to him once again reaching the heights he achieved in 1993 and 1995. He is a well respected leader with the players, and as the senior Vice-Captain, is the person to fill the role of interim Captain during James's absence from the team.

James will continue an active role with the Club both as the off-field Captain, and in assisting the Club in is marketing activities, particularly preparing for the move to Docklands in 2000.

James will resume the role of Captain when he returns from his injury later this season.
