The framework of Essendon’s High Performance Centre is beginning to take shape as construction continues on the club’s new facility near the Melbourne Airport.

Construction on the steel framework for the indoor training hall is underway and pending weather the grass on the MCG sized oval will be in place within the next fortnight.

""It's extremely exciting to see the new building literally coming out of the ground,"" Essendon chairman David Evans said.

""The above average rain fall this winter has slowed us down slightly but with the grass going down in the next few weeks, the project is really starting to take shape.""

Currently 2,889 donors have pledged their support to the project with the current Flight Plan total standing at $776,101.
