Paul ‘Fish’ Salmon returned to Windy Hill today for the first time since he was an Essendon listed footballer as part of the club’s program to re-engage with players from the 1984/85 premierships.

Past players including Alan Ezard and Paul Van Der Haar have already returned over the past few months.

Salmon, who still thinks of Windy Hill as his ""second home"", participated in the main training session, attended the team meeting and had lunch with the current squad where he held court telling funny stories for almost 30minutes.

He caught up exclusively with Bomber.tv and chatted about young stars Michael Hurley and Tayte Pears and the many changes at Essendon.

Salmon also reflected on his playing days and admits he's still hooked on Essendon which he describes as feeling comfortable and familiar like his grandmothers home.

Salmon played 209-games in the red and black and was a part of two Essendon premierships (1985 and 1993).

He was traded to Hawthorn in 1996 to get more opportunity in the ruck and retired in 2001 after 100 games and two best and fairests with the Hawks.

Salmon made a surprising comeback with Essendon in 2002 and played a further 14 games before retiring for good at the end of the year.

In all he played 324 games for two clubs and was selected at number 28 in the 60 Champions of Essendon (2002).
