SHAW: MID-FIELD FLOOD THE PROBLEM
Essendon assistant coach Robert Shaw believes it is the mid-field flood rather than the defensive flood that is the biggest problem with today's game. In his latest Engine Room Column <a href=""/engine/shaw.asp?id=12"">""For Shaw and Certain""</a>, Shaw looks at the reasons behind the mid-field flood and the fact that the six-man forward line is fast becoming a thing of the past. He also says the mid-field flood is one of the reasons that the great one-on-one contests of days gone by are rarely seen in today's environment.
