Dean Solomon is resting in hospital after surgery this morning to repair a ruptured tendon in his right finger. Fitness coach John Quinn said the operation went well and is hopeful of a full recovery. ""Dean will rest at home for the next 10 days and then he will start a rehabilitation program at the club. At the moment the finger is heavily bandaged and in a support brace, which is quite uncomfortable for Dean,"" Quinn said.

Solomon ruptured the tendon in his finger in a training drill yesterday morning in a skills session at La Trobe University, Bundoora. His finger got caught in a teammates jumper, which caused the injury. At this stage it is expected Solomon will be sidelined for eight weeks. It is the same injury that Matthew Lloyd sustained in Round 6 2002 against Fremantle. Lloyd missed eight weeks with the tendon injury.
