My name is Raman Tiruchunapalli. I came to Australia late 2001. I am a big bombers fan and very closely follow this team and sport. When I first saw this game, my initial thought was what is this is game? It is neither soccer nor rugby. Slowly I started to follow this sport by watching this game regularly and also listening to people at workplaces as they talk about footy
Essendon to my knowledge were big on Community and multiculturalism which was one of the reason I am now a big Bomber follower. One such initiative was the GloBALL program he club has undertaken in 2009 and since them it is has come a long way.
All my family and friends are amazed at this program It is great to see not just Indians but people from all other cultural backgrounds come to watch this game and support the club.
The other reason to follow the bombers was their success having won 16 premierships and counting towards 17th.
Cricket has been my number one sport but since following this sport I feel that this game has become a part of most of my weekend and more importantly when my team plays.
I wish them good luck for this season and the years to come by and sincerely want to say “I am one.”
