Essendon is proud to celebrate 2023 NAIDOC Week.

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year, in celebration and recognition of the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. Essendon kicked off the week with a NAIDOC morning tea on Monday which included foods made with traditional First Nations ingredients.

Following morning tea, local Elders joined in for a club-wide NAIDOC art activity which saw players and staff design handprints for a banner which now hangs proudly in the NEC Hangar.

The Bombers will also partner with VIC NAIDOC for this Saturday's VIC NAIDOC Ball, where the club encourages fans and members to donate any formalwear and help mob style up.

Essendon is proud to celebrate its rich First Nations history, which sees the club involved in the annual Marquee Dreamtime at the 'G, The Long Walk and Deadly Choices programs on Tiwi Island.
