Essendon managing director Peter Jackson today clarified comments made on SEN Radio last Sunday.

Some sections of the media have suggested Jackson was pointing to Damien Peverill when referring to former players’ negative views on the recruitment of Hayden Skipworth.

“The point I was trying to make was that some external parties – without knowledge of what is going on behind closed doors at the Club – may be creating this perception of player discontent and it could not be further from the truth,” Jackson said.

“I was drawn into discussions about former players and in defending Jason Johnson have by implication suggested it was Damien Peverill. That was not my intention.

""Damien is a person of great character and I would never question that. I have left a message with Damien so I can discuss it with him. ”
