Sheedy believes the Bombers have the ability to take it to Mick Malthouse and his troops this Saturday in a clash which could see both teams sitting at nine wins apiece come the final siren.
""Obviously Collingwood have been playing very, very well,"" Sheedy said.
""But I think we will play very well on the weekend and we have got to play better obviously than last week.
""We have got a seven week season confronting us and if we want to make the eight well then go for it.
""We are sitting at eight wins so it is not an impossible target. It is just up to us.""
But the Bombers will need to be at the top of their game to have any hope of matching it with a firing Collingwood.
Sheedy said Mark McVeigh and Dustin Fletcher look certain to return to the side this week having served their suspensions, Scott Camporeale will miss through injury and there may be additional changes this week.
""There could be two to four (changes), depending on how the players train tonight. I always like to see how they train and if they train well tonight,"" he said.
While Sheedy believes the long-term future of the Bombers is also shining bright with Patrick Ryder and Courtenay Dempsey re-signing two year deals this week.
""We just re-signed a couple of young guys which is really exciting for us,"" Sheedy said.
""It is a tremendous signing for us and our future and the boys are both from interstate so that is a big plus for us.""
