Essendon has announced its AAMI Community Series match squad for Friday evening's clash with the Cats.

In the Bombers' last practice match before the 2024 AFL season, 28 players have been named to play at GMHBA stadium.

Fresh off a three-year contract extension, defender Jordan Ridley has been named to play alongside full forward Peter Wright, after both first-choice players were held over from last week's match against St Kilda to fully recover from injury concerns.

Ruckman Sam Draper will miss this week's match as he continues building towards the 2024 season from a groin injury, while Bombers fans will have to wait a little longer to see top 10 draft pick Nate Caddy, who will not play as the club takes a cautious approach from soreness due to an awkward landing at training.

Bombers members have FREE general admission access to the March 1 game, with the general public able to buy tickets for the match here.
