Kevin Sheedy believes the AFL is ""lost"" when it comes to the rules that saw in-form defender Sean Wellman suspended for two weeks. Wellman's case was appealed and lost after he was initially suspended for charging the Bulldogs Rohan Smith.

""Eveyone seems lost when it comes to these rules, even the players. I don't think anyone knows where we going with any of the rules that they are trying to bring in"" Sheedy said.

""We as coaches are here to train young guys in the rules of the game which is very difficult to do when the rules are dark grey, light grey, white and sometimes pink"" Sheedy said.

On the injury front, skipper James Hird is still rated a seventy/thirty chance to play against the Cats on Sunday and Justin Blumfield looks set to make his return after a shoulder injury.

In his pre-training press conference Sheeds also said he believed the publicity surrounding ""that mark"" by Gary Moorcroft has been great for him. ""He's handled himself very well and when you look at it, not too many players of that height and stature would take a mark like that"" Sheedy said.
