Essendon has named its side to face the Western Bulldogs for Friday night footy.

Versatile midfielder Sam Durham returns for the Bombers' primetime clash after missing last week's game with concussion, while Alwyn Davey Jnr is set to line up for his second game of the season to date.

The Bombers are forced into two outs this week, with Archie Perkins and Will Setterfield both missing to respective injuries.

Perkins strained his hamstring late in the third term during last week's loss to Port Adelaide, while Setterfield has re-injured the knee that saw him miss action back in round three.

Last year's No.10 draft pick Nate Caddy has been listed as an emergency alongside Sam Weideman and young midfielder Elijah Tsatas.

The Dons and Dogs will go head-to-head from Marvel Stadium at 7:40pm AEST, following a VFL curtain raiser which begins at 4:05pm.
