Jordan Ridley will miss Essendon’s round two clash with Adelaide due to a concussion from a high knock during the second term of Friday night’s defeat to Hawthorn.
The 26-year-old entered the AFL’s Concussion Protocols after being subbed off at half-time, but is recovering well and at this stage expected to be available for the round three clash against Port Adelaide.
As reported on Saturday afternoon, scans confirmed a hamstring strain for Kyle Langford out of Friday night’s game, with the forward expected to miss the next 4-6 weeks.
Alwyn Davey Jnr is on the verge of a return from his pre-season knee surgery and will be available for selection this week, provided he gets through main training without issue.
Midfielder Will Setterfield is also a chance to return after missing last week with groin soreness.
Jayden Laverde remains a week away as he manages a hip flexor issue, while midfielder Darcy Parish is also progressing in his recovery from a niggling back injury, also currently expected to return to play next week.
