The rain cleared for the clinic and the sun shone brightly on the rain soaked oval. Scott Lucas, Steve Alessio and Dean Rioli had their hands full teaching the aspiring footballers how to banana kick for goal. ""It was fun to help the kids with their football skills and see the enjoyment on their faces. Sydney is predominately a rugby league state, so it is great these youngsters want to play AFL. There was a few future stars in our midst as well,” Alessio said.
Dustin Fletcher and Mark McVeigh were busy taking a kicking and handballing session with help from new recruits Shane Harvey and Andrew Welsh. Crowd favourite Kevin Sheedy gave an inspiring talk to the parents of the participating children about his coaching experiences and motivation to continue achieving his goals. He also spoke about Essendon's aim to establish it's brand nationally and look after all it's supporters around Australia and the globe.
The clinic finished with an autograph session and sausage sizzle. Bomber fans mingled with their favourite footy stars and had an opportunity to have a chat to them about the win against Sydney and the season. Bomber fans also had a chance to purchase the latest Essendon merchandise at the clinic - direct from the Bomber Shop at Windy Hill. The clinic was a great success and an enjoyable way to end the Sydney weekend for the Essendon entourage.
