Essendon’s VFLW side will see four signings and one re-signing as the Dons work towards the start of the 2026 season.

Signing from Essendon’s AFLW team are Jess Verbrugge and Amelie Gladman. The duo debuted in Darwin for the AFLW sides annual Dreamtime match against Richmond in 2025.

Verbrugge’s natural endurance ability and on-field leadership, accompanied by Gladman’s defensive-first mindset and strong work ethic will be valuable assets for the VFLW team.

The duo will be joined by new faces Nicole Hales and Briannan Lambe. Hales signs from North Melbourne’s VFLW team, an experienced player with over 100 VFLW games to her name. Lambe joins the Bombers from Eastern Ranges Coates Talent League (CTL), who just came off a premiership win against the Dandenong Stingrays in the CTL final.

Madison Ibrahim re-signs for another year in the sash. Ibrahim debuted for the Bombers in 2025 against North Melbourne and went on to play ten games for the season.
