Bomber stars Michael Long and Justin Blumfield will spend another week in the VFL side after being overlooked for senior selection this weekend. The pair had been thought by many to be certain starters against the West Coast Eagles this weekend but the Essendon selectors decided to take the safe approach. ""Justin has only had one game back from a pretty substantial break while Michael has had two matches after missing about three months of football,"" Essendon footballl manager Matthew Drain said. ""We just felt they would be better served by getting a full game under their belt at VFL level than being on and off the bench in Perth.""

Gary Moorcroft will also spend another week in the reserves despite being one of the best players last. Moorcroft collected 26 possessions and showed he is ready to make his return to the seniors when required.

The Essendon selectors made two changes for this weekend's match with Matthew Lloyd returning after suspension and Aaron Henneman being recalled. The pair replace Rob Forster-Knight who has a minor groin injury and Mark Bolton who was omitted.

The VFL side for this weekend is:
