Essendon and North Melbourne will honour the career of recently retired ruck Todd Goldstein during the pre-game of their Saturday night clash at Marvel Stadium.
After a stellar 17-season, 315-game stint with the Roos which held All-Australian and Club Best and Fairest honours, Goldstein switched over to the Dons ahead of 2024 already acclaimed as one of the finest ruckmen of the modern era.
Goldstein was a solid contributor in his two seasons with the Bombers, reaching ‘cult figure’ status among the Essendon faithful for his durability in taking over the ruck duties of one of the competition’s youngest outfits – even at the age of 37 - in his final campaign.
In addition to his feats at Club level, Goldstein holds the league’s all-time record for total career hitouts (10,608) as well as the most recorded in a single game with 80 in a dominant 2015 effort against the GIANTS.
Also rewarded with selection for Victoria in the 2020 State of Origin for Bushfire Relief game, Goldstein retired as a Don last season with 345 career games to his name – good for top 30 all-time.
Come and show love to ‘Goldy’ on Saturday night when we take on the Roos - a tribute video and ovation will take place after the Bombers run out.
