""I would think the fans enjoyed it. It was one of the best crowds for the round and the crowds are down this year. On one hand the AFL are asking you to create a lot of atmosphere and create a lot of good, hard, strong matches and as soon as you do - all of a sudden the press want to jump on and put pressure on the AFL to create some sort of controversy. To me, I just don't see it that way,” Sheedy said in his regular interview with Channel Seven.
Q. It was such a great game - did you get caught up in the emotion at three quarter time when you raised your arms?
A. I am allowed to talk to my players and talk to my fans. I didn't speak to the umpires at any stage and I don't have to. You can't send captains anywhere anymore except to toss the coin. As soon as my players came in - I said to them, ""lets try and win this one.""
Q. Are Brisbane premiership favourites?
A. Well they are on top and I think they and Port Adelaide are the best sides we have played. Collingwood played very well against us on Anzac Day. The teams that are in the top four are the ones that should be there at the present time on performance.
Q. There has been reports in the media today that things are getting a bit personal between you and the AFL - how do you respond to that?
A. I would not have thought so. It was only a year or two ago that Wayne Jackson and Andrew Demetriou asked all the coaches to keep creating a lot of talk and interest in the game. There are a number of other ball codes out there - soccer and rugby - so we have to talk Aussie rules up, so it shouldn't be seen to be personal.
Q. How did the team pull up, particularly Lloyd?
A. I think Lloydy will get up and missing him definitely hurt us, there is no doubt about that. We are not that far away. We just need to continue this form for the next couple of weeks and particularly take it to Adelaide it would be great. We have a full week this week to really rest because we are not playing until Sunday.
