In exciting news for Bombers fans, the Essendon Football Club and the James Hird Academy will present the second annual Guard of Honour game on Saturday night against the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium.

Following on from the success of last year’s inaugural Guard of Honour game against Gold Coast, a number of Baby Bombers will return to Etihad Stadium to welcome the senior team onto the ground.

The names are famous ones and will include the likes of Hird, Fletcher, Misiti, Caracella, O’Donnell, Hamilton, Lovett-Murray and Denham.

In addition, an interview with Essendon’s first graduate of the James Hird Academy, Joe Daniher and his father, Essendon legend Anthony Daniher, will take place on the ground prior to the game.

This game will provide an opportunity for the Club and its fans to acknowledge the contribution of Essendon’s 100 game players.

The James Hird Academy encourages all Essendon Football Club members and supporters to get behind this great initiative aimed at securing our on-field future, and hopefully unearth another Jobe Watson!

Bomber fans, be there to witness a glimpse of the future!
