General manager of football operations Paul Hamilton said the club was pleased to confirm a new contract with the 198cm, key-position player.
“We see Jake as a very promising, emerging key position player for the club,” Hamilton said.
“He’s shown in recent weeks that he is a very strong player whose versatility also benefits the group with his ability to go back or forward.
“This signing goes a long way to ensuring we keep a very good group of young players together which we believe will lead to future success for the Essendon Football Club.”
Recruited from the Calder Cannons via selection 24 in the 2009 NAB AFL Draft, Carlisle made his AFL debut against Collingwood in Round 20 last year and has played five AFL games.
