Experienced Bomber David Zaharakis has claimed the Bruce Heymanson Best Clubman award at the 2019 Crichton Medal ceremony on Tuesday night.

A true leader of the club, the veteran was a valuable asset for the side again this year, displaying his versatility throughout the season to play in a variety of positions.

His willingness to lead the way for his younger teammates both in the off season through his annual trip to Colorado and also allowing them greater opportunities on the ball during the year was admirable.

Zaharakis averaged 20.3 disposals, five marks, three inside 50s and 2.8 rebound 50s across his 20 senior games this year, showing he still has plenty to offer the side.

He will enter the 2020 season at the age of 30, but with more than 200 games under his belt and many more to come, Zaharakis is sure to continue to play a key role for the club in the future.
