The Essendon Football Club today advised that a wake will be held for Bomber legend Allan T. Hird.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Essendon Football Club, Social Club on Monday, May 21 at 12.30pm.
Chief Executive Officer, Peter Jackson, said that players would also wear black armbands in Saturday's game against the Brisbane Lions. A tribute will also be displayed on the big screen at Telstra Dome.
""Allan is an icon of the club being a past player, committeeman and President and we will honour his contribution and his standing as one of our original legends,"" Mr Jackson said.
""On behalf of the players, officials and staff I would like to again pass on our deepest sympathies to the Hird family.""
