Now that the home and away season is complete, Essendon fans will be starting to think closely about the upcoming national draft and the next breed of Bomber recruits.

Stuart from Hobart says: after playing on some of the best forwards in the league and with his terrific athleticism i would love to see paddy taking some signature high flying grabs and finishing with a goal.
Nathan Smith from Mosman/NSW/AUSTRALIA says: Paddy is developing into a quality backman, and although he'd be an asset up forward, the bombers need someone to build their defence around with Big Mal heading off and Fletch on his last year or two.
Barney Sneddon from Alphington says: Watching Paddy for a few years I like contrasting him to what Adam Goodes is doing at Sydney. Paddy is potentially a replacement for Fletch or we can use the defensive apprenticeship to contribute to a more damaging role. The last few months I have been noticing that Paddy and Leroy operate together very smartly...
Geoff from WA says: I reckon Paddy Ryder would make an outstanding CHF. I also believe Scott Gumbleton, with a few more kilograms packed on, would be very capable at CHB. He has played there previously.
Ken Carpenter from Ballarat says: We appear to have a very talanted group who will fill the key rolls up forward. Paddy I believe will develop into a really great half back both in defence & attach. Go Bombers...
Helen Constance from Strathmore says: Ryder has shon us that he can play both ends of the ground & also ruck with his agile leap but lets just let him settle on the backline & if he wants he can just wander down to the forward line & kick a goal.He is still very young & has plenty of learning time ahead of him to add to his game just like the multi talented Matthew Lloyd has done late into his career & has proven all that critisism about him wrong, and in my opinion one of our most valuable players down the ground
Stuart Charles from Stanley Tas says: i like to see paddy playing down back, i think he will take over the fletcher roll in the years after fletch calls it a day and either at full back or centre half i think he will be destend to take the biggest forward the j.browns ect. however he also shows alot of promise in the ruck and then is free to float forward.. where every paddy ends up as long as its with the bombers he will be a real champion for our great club!
John McKenzie from says: Paddy has got tremendous talent, but next year should be his year to come of age.. He needs to stop floating like a butterfly and he needs to start stinging like a bee.
Adrian McCarty from Rochester vic says: I think Paddy Ryder with a big pre-season could develop into an Adam Goodes type player because he has the pace and explosiveness he just needs to be shown how to play the part
