Jonathan Giles

The former Giant produced a best-on-ground performance against North Ballarat on the weekend. Giles amassed 22 disposals, six marks and booted two goals. At times the 27-year-old looked unstoppable, as he dominated the battle of the big men. With the dangerous Port Adelaide ruck duo of Matthew Lobbe and Paddy Ryder looming, Giles could be the man called upon to help nullify them.

Kurt Aylett

Rookie-listed Aylett has developed considerably this season and continues to impress. The midfielder gathered 23 disposals, booted a goal, and laid a monster 12 tackles on the weekend. In line with the ‘Baby Bombers’ regeneration, Aylett joins the list of the number of young Dons on the cusp of selection in the latter stages of this season.

Elliott Kavanagh

Kavanagh continues to knock on the door of the AFL side after being left out of the last two matches. The classy midfielder racked up 23 touches, including five marks and nine tackles in the 22-point win over North Ballarat. The 22-year-old adds great poise and composure and could be a valuable inclusion this weekend.

Tayte Pears

The 25-year-old enjoyed a shift back to defence in the VFL on the weekend after holding down a key forward position for majority of the season. Pears had 21 possessions and took five marks, as he returned to his dominant role as the key man in the backline. Regardless of what end he plays at, the intensity and hunger Pears brings to the field could prove a vital addition to the side.
