It was a closely contested battle for three-quarters and the Bombers endeavour could not be questioned, but when the game was there for the taking the Eagles were the better side who stood up.
Bendigo has chalked up its first win of the season and done so in a style that suggests there will be more to follow in the coming weeks. The Bombers trailed by five points at three-quarter time against Tasmania but slammed on eight goals to two in the final quarter to run out 25-point winners.
