Essendon ruckman David Hille will miss this weekend’s clash with Adelaide following an injury setback at training today.
The 29-year-old was expected to return to the senior side this week following a hamstring injury sustained against Sydney in Round 11, however today’s minor reoccurrence will delay his return for at least two more weeks.
“Unfortunately David suffered a reoccurrence of his hamstring injury today and although it was only minor, the fact that there was a reoccurrence means it is likely to keep him out for another two to three games,” Essendon football boss Paul Hamilton said.
Hamilton said while it is disappointing for Hille, the ruckman's omission would give another player an opportunity to play in a make or break game for the Bombers.
In better news for the club, small forward Angus Monfries is likely to make the trip to AAMI Stadium this week after successfully completing training today.
Monfries also sustained a hamstring injury in the Bombers’ Round 11 loss to Sydney at the SCG.
In the lead-up to the 10th anniversary of the 2000 premiership, EssendonFC is catching up with members of the historic side to find out what they've been up to since hanging up the boots. First up is the inspirational Adam Ramanauskas.
