Midfielder Brent Stanton has returned from holiday in peak physical condition after recording a personal best time in both the Beep and Yo-Yo tests.

The playing group completed their post Christmas testing this morning and Stanton says the entire list has come back in good shape.

“The boys were a bit nervous, I think there were a few big targets set before the break but everyone did really well and there were some great results and personal bests,” Stanton said

“You’ll probably find that most guys will train every morning on their break, it is something that you have to do otherwise you will fall behind the eight ball. Even though we had a mental break from the football club it is still important to keep your body physically right,” He said.
With the NAB Cup just five weeks away, Stanton says the players are all too aware the hard work isn’t over yet.

“The enthusiasm has been great. I think that is one of the biggest things I’ve noticed over the eight weeks. It is a pretty gruelling time for the group but to keep backing it up day in day out is impressive.”

“As a group we are pushing ourselves and the coaching staff is right behind us and we are working together as a team to really get this club back to where it should be.”

“The new system that’s been brought in by the new coaching panel has been pretty solid and has featured a lot of contested ball.""

“We want to create a side where the pressure is on all the time,” He said
