Aggressive forward Kyle Reimers says his body is in career-best condition and is looking forward to seeing further improvements when the team returns to the track next week.

“My body and my fitness levels at the moment is in the best condition it has been in since I arrived at the club and I guess that has a lot to do with the intensity and physical demands of the pre-season in the lead up to Christmas,” Reimers said.

“The physicality and the workload particularly have made this pre-season that hardest I have ever been involved. That said, the way in which the boys are going about their trainings is really positive and makes it a real good environment around the club.

“There is general improvement in the areas we were lacking last year and all the boys are definitely in the right state of mind which is great to see.

“It’s obviously not going to get any easier and I think all the players are looking forward to getting stuck into it again.”

Enjoying his Christmas break in Melbourne with his mother, sister and niece, Reimers has used the time to train with teammate Heath Hocking.

“We like to push each other so it has been a good way to get some extra training in over the break,” Reimers said.
