Following strong hit-outs for the Bendigo Bombers yesterday, Nathan Lovett-Murray and Scott Camporeale could return to the Essendon team for their Saturday clash with the Western Bulldogs according to assistant coach Gary O'Donnell.
While Bendigo lost to North Ballarat 14.11 (95) to 11.19 (85) at Stawell, a number of key players had impressive performances.
And with James Hird, Paddy Ryder and Alwyn Davey out injured - and Mark McVeigh and Dustin Fletcher facing striking charges - there will be at least three changes to the spirited Essendon team that went down to Geelong on Friday night.
Speaking on Bomber radio after watching the Bendigo game, O'Donnell said Essendon will go for players that best fill positions.
""Obviously Matthew Lloyd will return to the team and we are hopeful that Brent Stanton will get up too,"" O'Donnell said.
""Lovett-Murray is some sort of chance to be selected because he can fill a couple of roles if he was to come back.
""Campo touched the ball about 36 times and, while it wasn't an Andrew McLeod type dominant 36 disposals, he was getting his hands on it and will be up around the mark again.""
If selected for Essendon, Camporeale will play his 250 game.
Goal kickers for Bendigo were Monfries with three, Bradley with two and singles to Lovett-Murray, Bolton, Maddern, Bowe, Houli and Gumbleton.
Best players were: Camporeale, Chartres, Cloke, Flaherty, Hocking and Heffernan.
Following last night's loss to Geelong the news hasn't gotten any better on the injury front. Alwyn Davey was operated on last night to repair a fractured humurus (upper arm). While the operation was decribed as successful he will miss the next eight weeks but could be back for the finals should the Bombers take part.
