Sam Lonergan will have surgery this afternoon to repair a spiral fracture to a bone in his hand.

Football operations manager, Paul Hamilton, said the 22-year-old is only expected to miss one or two weeks.

""The surgeon originally thought Sam might miss up to five weeks but they now believe it will only be one or two weeks which is good news,"" he said.

""We will just have to see how the operation goes but we are confident Sam will be able to return to the team sooner rather than later.""

Loneragn injured his hand yesterday in an innocuous training incident.
